While hanging around our hostel trying to think of a way to spend our Saturday. We came across a tiny add for 'No Mans Land.' Recently the French embassy in Tokyo moved to a new building, and came up with a very creative way to say goodbye to the old one. Two large buildings and the surrounding grounds were turned over to several Tokyo artists. For about two weeks, the artists had complete control over the embassy and it truly was, a no mans land. Each artist was given a room, hall or closet to do whatever they wanted with. 'No Mans Land' was 100% free to enter and the artists were standing by to provide information and answer questions. Unfortunately the building is scheduled to be demolished on Jan 31st. Our video does not even scratch the service on the tremendous amount of art in the embassy, but we hope you enjoy this short compilation of our favorites.
